The game was played earlier than scheduled due to the weather forecast for the end of the week. The Lady Jackets faced Wells earlier this season during a tournament and lost by one run. A double by Cheryl Clack brought in two more runs for the Lady Jackets. Emma Grimes added another run stealing home. Wells was able to put their first two batters on base in the top of the second inning, but Josey Sturrock struck out the next three batters.

Chester scored four more runs in the second inning, with triples by Sturrock and Clack and singles by Handley and Belle Gilzow. The third inning was scoreless for both teams. Wells was able to score their only run in the fourth inning, bringing the score 8-1. Clack drove in another run for the Lady Jackets in the bottom of the fourth with a single to right field. After sending the first three Lady Pirate batters back to the dugout in the top of the fifth inning, Belle Gilzow hit a double to centerfield, sending two runners home to end the game for the Lady Jackets. Josey Sturrock got the win for the Lady Jackets, allowing only one run and six hits, while striking out five Lady Pirates. Chianne Chandler also played a great game on third base.
