Basketball season is over for Colmesneil. While the high school teams did not do as well as expected, the junior high teams excelled. The Lady Dogs won District, going undefeated, and the Bulldogs won three of their games.
Baseball and softball season are just beginning for Colmesneil High School. The Bulldogs have played one scrimmage so far and are looking good for having few practices with the whole team. Great things are expected from the teams as Coach Davis (varsity) and Coach McCullough (junior varsity) continue to coach. Coach Sewell will be coaching the softball team, along with Coach Johnson. Unlike the boys' side of the ball, the girls will only have a varsity team this year.
The Bulldogs will play in their second scrimmage of the year on Friday, February 17 against Woodville. The games will be in Woodville and will begin at 4:30 p.m. with junior varsity. The Lady Dogs will compete in the Warren Tournament on Thursday, February 16 through Saturday, February 18.
The high school power lifting team competed in their last meet of the year in Kountze last Thursday. Colton Ackley placed third place in the 200-220 pound weight class. Tyler Cutrer also placed third in his weight class of 181-200 pounds.
