The varsity Warrior basketball team played their first play-off game on Monday, February 17, versus Central Heights. The Warriors had an excellent season, but lost 47-35.
On Thursday February 20 and Saturday February 22, the varsity Lady Warrior softball team competed in an Orangefield tournament located in Beaumont. The Lady Warriors played a total of four games. Although the Lady Warriors were not able to place in this tournament it was an excellent preparation for the upcoming season. On Friday February 21 and Saturday February 22, the JV Lady Warrior softball team competed in a tournament at Livingston. The JV Lady Warriors competed well while preparing for the season.
On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday February 20-22, the varsity Warrior baseball team participated in a tournament hosted by Groveton. The Warriors defeated the Colmesneil Bulldogs 8-1 on Thursday February 20. On Friday, February 21, the Warriors defeated Latexo 6-0. Warren played another great game on Friday, but lost to Groveton 7-6. On Saturday, February 22, the Warriors competed in their last game of the tournament against Leon. The Warriors won 3-0.
The varsity Lady Warriors will compete in a Livingston tournament on Thursday and Saturday, February 27 and March 1. On Tuesday, March 4, the JV and varsity Lady Warriors will travel to Kirbyville for their first district game of the season. The varsity Warriors will compete in a Frankston Memorial tournament on Thursday, February 27. On Tuesday, March 4, the Warriors will play Buna at home.
The Lady Warriors softball team will be hosting a hit a thon and home run derby as a fundraiser for the softball program on Friday, February 28, and Saturday, March 1. The hit a thon will consist of each Lady Warrior softball player hitting a total of ten softballs. Pledges can be made per foot, which will be based off the farthest ball hit by the player. Flat donations are also accepted. There are a total of eight different divisons for the home run derby: division 1 is boys 8 and under, division 1A is girls 8 and under, division 2 is boys 9-13, division 2A is girls 9-13, division 3 is boys 14-18, division 3A is girls 14-18, division 4 is men 19 and older, and division 4A is women 19 and older. Each division will have a prize for the winner. Winners of each division will be determined by the farthest hit, or most homeruns. Divisions 1 and 2 will hit softballs on Friday, February 28, around 6:30 p.m. Divisions 3 and 4 will hit ragballs on Saturday, March 1, around 6:00 p.m. The entry fee for each participant is ten dollars which will include 10 hits. Both the hit a thon and home run derby will be open for sign ups until February 28 at 3:00 p.m.
