Lady Warriors Challenge Kountze

Saturday, October 12, the Lady Warriors freshmen, JV, and varsity volleyball teams traveled to Kountze. The freshmen team lost in three matches. The JV team beat the Kountze Lions in only two matches. The JV Lady Warriors won the first match 25-16 and continued to dominate in the second winning 25-9.The varsity team lost in four matches. The Lady Warriors won the first match and lost the last three.
The freshmen team played an excellent first game. Brielle Johnson started off the game with two serves that provided the Lady Warriors with an early lead 2-1. Brooke Foster had a hit that extended the lead 4-2. Ashley Post and Rachael Lee both had three serves and the Lady Warriors were now ahead 9-6. Katlyn Payne had a hit that could not be returned. Foster had a block that contributed to the lead; the score was now 14-11. Emily Glosson and Johnson both had two serves. Glosson also had a kill that extended the lead 18-14. The Lady Warriors continued to play hard and won the first match 25-19. In the second match the Kountze Lions came back to win against the freshmen Lady Warriors. Kountze took the early lead and the Lady Warriors struggled to recover. Johnson had two serves that helped bring Warren to a score of 14-8. Foster had a block, Warren was now only behind 15-11. Glosson also had two serves. Post had six serves that caught the Lady Warriors up to 24-19. Kountze was still ahead. The Lady Warriors played tough but lost this match 25-19. The Warren freshmen team fought hard again in the third and final match. The Lions took the early lead. Emily Cloud had a kill that scored the Lady Warriors first point, the score was now 3-1. Cloud later had three serves that lowered the Lions lead to only two points. Foster had two kills. Cloud again had three serves; the Lady Warriors were still behind 20-11. Glosson also had three serves. Although the Lady Warriors played a great game, they fell short losing the match 25-16.
Thursday, October 10, the Warren Warriors JV football team played at home versus Kountze. The JV team played hard and it showed when the Warriors won the game 20-6. The varsity Warriors traveled to Kountze on Friday, October 11. The varsity Warriors fought, but lost the game 54-0.
The JV football team will play again on Thursday, October 17, at Anahuac. Friday, October 18, the varsity football team will play at home against the Anahuac Panthers. The freshmen, JV, and varsity Lady Warrior volleyball teams will all play their last home game on Saturday, October 19, versus Hemphill, and their last game of the season at Deweyville on Tuesday, October 22.
