The Chester Lady Jackets cruised to victory against both Spurger and Leggett this past week. On Tuesday, Chester moved to 4-0 in district play beating Spurger in three straight sets 25-12, 25-16 and 25-17. Jaci Davis led the Lady Jackets from the service line, and middle blocker Laken Read had a great game defensively. The Lady Jackets forced errors to keep a consistent lead over the Lady Pirates.

On Friday evening, the Lady Jackets hosted Leggett, winning easily in three straight sets 25-9, 25-12 and 25-17. Setter Destiny Kuehn led Chester at the service line and outside hitter Tyra Adair led the team in kills. Adair, Timber Wright and Kyrstin Jobe made kill after kill to dominate over Leggett.

"This past week was a good week for the team to fine tune a few things and to make sure that they are ready for the remainder of the district schedule. Both teams that we played against this past week were very young and inexperienced teams, however, that will not be the case in the coming week as we travel to Apple Springs on Tuesday and host what will likely be our toughest opponent, San Augustine on Friday. It was a good week, but now it's time for us to get back to work," said Coach Hall.

The Yellowjackets were scheduled to play Crosby Victory and Praise on Saturday, September 21, but due to unfavorable weather and field conditions the game was canceled. The Yellowjackets will resume play Friday, September 27. They will host Conroe Covenant Christian at 7:30 p.m., and homecoming ceremonies will be pregame beginning at 7:00 p.m.
