Investigation leads to drug arrest

On July 29, at approximately 1 a.m, Woodville Police Sergeant Hicks was assisting the Tyler County Sheriff's Department with an investigation involving a reported robbery that occurred outside the city.

According to Mike McCulley of the Woodville Police Department, an informant advised Hicks that the victim of the robbery, Jonathon St. Pierre, age 32, of LaPlace, La., was in possession of narcotics. Sgt. Hicks later met with St. Pierre at the Polk's Pick It Up store to discuss the robbery, and at that time St. Pierre told officers that he was from the Houston area and was traveling to Louisiana when he

While meeting with St. Pierre near his vehicle, Sgt. Hicks advised him that a reliable informant had told him that St. Pierre was in possession of narcotics. Based on that report, Sgt. Hicks asked and obtained permission to search the vehicle. During the search, Officers recovered several items of drug paraphernalia that included home pipes and containers. Inside one of the pipes, Officers found methamphetamines.

St. Pierre was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance penalty group 1, less than one gram and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond was set by Woodville Municipal Court Judge Haney at $7,500
