Spurger woman faces 57 years for embezzling

Sammy Gail Page, age 60, of Spurger is facing a 57 month stay in federal prison for embezzling more than one million dollars through her job with UBS Financial Services.

According to court documents, Page worked as an investment advisor at the Beaumont office of UBS and made unauthorized withdrawals from five different client accounts on more than 60 occasions. Page embezzled $1, 207, 440 dollars in funds from 2005 until March 2011.

Page had a wide description over transfer of funds, and was able to arrange the withdrawals by authorizing wire transfers to her credit card. Reports say that Page used client funds to pay for credit card balances and her own personal expenses.

Page was indicted by a grand jury on October 17, 2012 and pled guilty to Interstate Transportation of Money Taken by Fraud on Jan 4, 2013.

She will report to the US Marshall service on July 12, 2013, where she will be transported to the Bureau of Prisons.
