WOODVILLE – During Monday morning’s meeting of the Tyler County Commissioners Court, the county approved a resolution authorizing the submission of a CDBG grant amount toward designated projects.
Lesley Waxman of the David J. Waxman consulting firm spoke to the court about the grant process. The application was made to the CDBG Disaster Recovery Program for repairs to damages incurred through Hurricane Harvey in 2017.
The awarded amount of $757,502 was split between Woodville, Ivanhoe and Tyler County Special Utility District. Waxman said the projects that have been designated by each entity will be posted for public comment by Thursday. The projects slated include work on water, street and sewer systems.

Lynnette Cruse, the county tax assessor, presented the agreement, which is a provision acknowledging the county’s responsibility for overseeing the equipment and consumables on the registration and title system.
