by Mitchell McCluskey

After a successful basketball season of filled with hard effort and impressive strategies. The boy and girl athletes of Warren High School will now commence baseball, softball, and golf.

The baseball team, led by head coach Joe Wofford will play at their first tournament on February 21 through February 23 at Groveton. They also have tournaments scheduled at Central Heights on February 28 through March 2, and Hempstead on March 7 through March 9. After a series of non-district games against Buna, Hull Daisetta, Alto, Kountze, and Beaumont Legacy, the varsity team will play their first district game at Newton on March 19. They will face Newton again on April 9, but after playing against Hemphill, Kirbyville, Corrigan Camden, and Woodville. The team hopes to advance beyond district as they did last year and demonstrate their inert prowess in baseball throughout the season.

The boys' and girls' golf teams also have a full season ahead of them. On February 25, the boys will travel to Chambers County for a tournament hosted by Anahuac. The girls will head to Bayou Din on February 27 to participate in a tournament hosted by Ozen High School. Warren High School will host tournaments on March 11, 13, and 19, all of which will take place in Wildwood. The teams will return to Wildwood on April 10 to compete in the district competition. If any members advance to regional competition, it will take place at Oak Hurst in Tyler. State competition will take place at Roy Kizer in Austin.
