On Tuesday, March 18, the JV and varsity Lady Warriors played at home against Newton. The JV Lady Warriors had an excellent game and won. The varsity Lady Warriors fought throughout the entire game, but lost. On Friday, March 21, the JV and varsity Lady Warriors traveled to Hemphill. The JV Lady Warriors were able to defeat Hemphill in a close game 10-9. The varsity Lady Warriors also played hard, but were unable to defeat Hemphill.
On Tuesday, March 18, the JV and varsity Warriors played their first district home game of the season against Newton. The JV team played a great game and won. The varsity Warriors dominated Newton and won 17-2 in just three innings. On Friday, March 21, the JV and varsity Warriors played at home against Hemphill. The varsity Warriors played another great game and won 6-3. The varsity Warriors now have an overall record of 12-3.
The Jr. High girls and boys hosted a track meet on Monday, March 17. The Lady Warriors competed hard which was shown through their results. The seventh grade girls earned as follows: Jessica Pilgrim first in long jump, Sachi Richardson fourth in triple jump, Brooke Tanton third and Ashley Price fourth in discus, Tanton second, Price third, and Kamey Ramer fifth in shot put, Pilgrim first in high jump, Brianna Amadore fifth and Lauren Griffin sixth in the 2400 meter race, Olivia Hill, Hannah Balla, Ramer, and Pilgrim earned second in the 400 meter relay, Hallie Nevins third in the 100 meter hurdles, Pilgrim first and Balla fifth in the 100 meter dash, Warren earned second in the 4 by 200 meter relay, Chelsea Gore fourth and Hallie Nevins sixth in the 400 meter race, Ramer fifth in the 200 meter dash, and Hannah Benton sixth in the 1600 meter race. The eight grade girls earned as follows: Samantha Marlar fifth in long jump, Marlar sixth in triple jump, Grace Clinard second and Marion Purvis fourth in discus, Curissa Hester first and Clinard third in shot put, Erin Foster fifth in high jump, Mallory Walters first in the 2400 meter race, Warren placed fourth in the 400 meter relay, Walters first in the 1600 meter race, Marlar first and Kynsi Gillis sixth in the 100 meter hurdles, Hester first and Marlar sixth in the 100 meter dash, Warren earned fourth in the 4 by 200 meter relay, and Gillis fifth in the 300 meter hurdles.
On Saturday, March 22, Cade Flebbe and Gaylan Steubing competed at the state power lifting meet in Abilene. Flebbe competed in the 114 weight class and came in ninth place at the competition. Flebbe squatted 300 pounds, benched 150 pounds, and dead lifted 350 pounds. Steubing competed in the super heavy weight class and placed eleventh at the competition. Steubing squatted 525 pounds, benched 345 pounds, and dead lifted 405 pounds.
