Lady Warriors Fall in Bi-District to Rice Consolidated 8-0

Lady Warriors

Softball - Last Thursday the number three seed Lady Warriors traveled to Conroe to take on the number two seed Lady Raiders of Rice Consolidated in a Bi-District matchup. Both pitchers made it through the first three innings without giving up a run. Warren's Hailey Craigen was able to work around a couple of base hits in the second and third inning to keep Rice off of the board. Trouble came in the fourth for the Lady Warriors as a lead off single and a hit-batter put runners on the bases with no outs; setting up a three-run homerun over the left field wall to give Rice the lead.

The Lady Raiders next batter doubled to left, in front of the second homerun of the inning, this time over center field, to give Rice a 5-0 lead. Rice was able to tack on more in the fifth inning. A lead-off triple, two singles, and a throwing error gave the Lady Raiders three more runs to add to their lead. In the seventh, Craigen was able to break-up a perfect game by the Lady Raiders pitcher with a double to center field. This would be the only hit that the Lady Warriors were able to get, falling to the Lady Raiders 8-0. The Warren Community is so proud of the Lady Warriors for all of their accomplishments this season.

Coach Lauren Deaver stated (Facebook), "Being a coach isn't always easy of fun, but one thing it always manages to be is rewarding. Getting to watch girls learn and grown into beautiful young ladies is such a privilege. Being a part of these girls lives has been one of my greatest blessings. Thank you girls for yet another season filled with unforgettable memories. Love you all!
