In the third quarter, the Lady Dogs kicked their game up a notch and scored 16 points opposed to PCA's two points. This continued for the remainder of the game, and the Lady Dogs won their first district game 40-21.
Jackson earned 12 points and was followed by Hughes with 10 points, Emilee James with six points, and Harris, Marshall, and Halo with four points.
Coach Quintin Cates said, "Defense won that game. In the second half, they only scored six points, and we scored 23 points. We won this game because PCA did not score in the second half. We were ready to play, offered great defense, and they could not do anything against us. Jackie Hughes lit PCA up with outside shots, and scored two three's and two two's. This spread PCA out and we had a greater chance of scoring."
