Three Woodville citizens were arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery on Saturday, September 20 after the three suspects devised and carried out a plan to attack a Woodville man.
According to Captain Mike McCulley of the Woodville Police Department, Officer Jathan Borel of the Woodville Police Department responded to the 400th Block of MLK in response to a call concerning a fight in progress.
The victim, Mekeba Chatman, age 34 of Woodville, was still at the scene when Borel arrived. Chatman reported that he had been asked by Kate Webb, age 18 of Woodville, to come over to a location near his house to help her with a problem. When he arrived at the location, two male individuals, later identified as Trenton Juan Hunter, age 26 of Woodville and Tory Donelle Foster, age 30 of Woodville, attacked him.
After Chatman had been assaulted, the two attackers took his shoes, wallet and some articles of his clothing.
While investigating the fight, Webb reported that Chatman had tried to sexually assault her and that Hunter and Foster had attacked Chatman to defend Webb. The story was later determined to be untrue, and Webb was charged with False Report as well as aggravated robbery.
"Both Officer Borel and Officer Hicks of the Woodville Police Department reviewed and investigated reports and questioned various witnesses and determined that Hunter and Foster did in fact attack Chatman and that Webb had aided in the attack by conspiring with the other two men and luring him to the location of the attack," said McCulley.
Hunter and Webb were arrested later that night and a warrant was issued for Foster, who was arrested on September 22.
Hunter and Foster were charged with Aggravated Robbery and are still in jail under a $200,000 bond.
Webb was charged with Aggravated Robbery and False Report and is still being held in jail under a $205,000 bond.
