Driver stopped for 90 mph in 75 mph zone arrested for Marijuana possession

On November 2 at approximately 7 p.m, Tyler County Deputies were patrolling Highway 190 West of Woodville when they stopped a vehicle that was checked by radar traveling 90 mph in a 75 mph zone. According to Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford, deputies identified the driver as Alvin Williams, age 29, of Woodville.

"Deputies immediately detected a strong odor of Marijuana coming from inside the vehicle as they spoke with Williams," Weatherford said. "Once asked about the Marijuana smell, Williams admitted that there was about an ounce of weed under his seat."
Deputies retrieved a clear plastic bag from under Williams seat that contained the Marijuana.

Williams was arrested and transported the Tyler County Jail, charged with Possession of
Marijuana, Misdemeanor. Williams is currently out of jail on a $1000 Bond set by Justice of the Peace Trisher Ford.
